TECHNIQUES USED IN GOLDEN STAR

The following techniques can be spotted in the REALISTIC GOLD video:

  1. The color palette here may look a little strange but I explain the purpose of every color in the video. You can easily customize your own gold projects using the same tip!

  2. I underpainted the gold blending combination with BG11. There’s a reason for using pale aqua (see video) but honestly, I think I’ll be using aqua underneath earthy golds more often. It’s such a pretty effect!

  3. I used two different white pencils for the hotspots. Prismacolor (Amazon link) creates a soft, delicate white while Stabilo (Amazon) makes a white that pops.

  4. The cast shadow here includes everything and the kitchen sink. Every pencil on the star is also found in the shadow because nothing’s more boring than a flat gray shadow.
