Vanilla Undercover: Underpaint with Copic Markers for Beautiful Realism - Morning Magenta
Wake up your pinks!
Real shade is not darker color, real shade is desaturated color.
To create the desaturated colors that Copic Marker does not make, Vanilla Arts Company teaches Online Workshops and Livestream Coloring Challenges using the underpainting method. Students learn to layer colors realistically rather than blend.
Underpainting creates natural colors found in everyday life.
Morning Magenta
Elena’s Advice:
The RV marker family can be intimidating. The colors are so darn vibrant and loud.
But oh, RVs make pretty flowers once they’re tamed.
After some experimenting, I did it! And now you can tame your RV markers too and end up with a vibrant, yet richer magenta color.
YG95 is the basecoat which desaturates the pink vibrancy. Layer RV29, then RV19 to build up the color. Then use RV66 to blend it all out.
Just as flowers need water to grow, you need enough wet ink for the blend to happen! Then wait, there’s a delay time to this blend but once it starts, it’s wonderful!
