It’s sad (and frustrating) because color theory is so much more than a silly little color wheel! Color theory is how artists choose and use colors to create emotion and feeling in their art. You can also use color theory to mix specific colors, like those we find in photo references. Color theory frees you from having to buy every marker color ever made!

In her Applied Color Theory videos, Amy shows you how she uses color theory to capture realistic colors and recreate them with Copic Markers and colored pencils. Never wonder again if you’re using the right shade color— mixing it yourself is easier than you think.

The Applied Color Theory in this video series uses Copic Markers and Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils but also works with other alcohol marker brands, other brands of artist grade colored pencils, and artist grade watercolor.
