Hey Color Wonks—
The NEW Color Wonk is now available!
Hooray, hooray, hooray! I’ve been working on this thing all summer and I have the gray hairs to prove it!
Wait a minute. NEW Color Wonk? What was wrong with the old Color Wonk?
Well, it was a perfect storm of problems.
First, in case you didn’t notice, we’ve been straddling two different platforms. Your lesson materials and livestreams came from a site called Teachable but the forum and all conversations were happening at something called Mighty Networks.
For a long time, neither site could offer what the other one provided.
So back and forth, back and forth we went.
It was confusing too.
People were looking for lessons on the talk site…
Asking me how to talk on the lesson site…
Getting their two passwords mixed up…
And if this is all news to you, then you were one of several people who never-ever understood a second site even existed!
Whoa, dude. Some of y’all have been missing out.
And you thought I was crazy for sending you invites and more invites… Forum, schmorum!
Then Teachable started breaking down…
And get this: Despite the weekly issues with processing fees or eternally buffering videos, their 2024 prices skyrocketed along with their transaction fees.
But I was faithful. I tried using Teachable’s “new” membership system and their “new” forums… Where “new” actually meant “circa 1952”.
So when Mighty Network opened their own course delivery system, I decided to leave Teachable.
The big move has been going on all summer!
IT’S TIME TO MOVE COLOR WONK
And as long as we’re moving, I’m fixing a few flaws in the original Wonk set up.
See, I modeled Color Wonk after my other successful membership group, The Underpainters. I figured, “hey, it worked for the advanced students, let’s do the same thing for intermediates!”
But it didn’t really work…
For starters, I seriously miscalculated the price versus the amount of time it takes to create a lesson, market it, and then monitor your progress.
I also didn’t realize how diverse intermediate needs really are. Some wanted casual coloring while others were screaming for deep-dives.
The heart of Color Wonk is great but I can do better.
I’ve divided NEW Color Wonk new participation levels.
Because I’ve been simplifying how I run the business this past year, I’ve now created the necessary space to return to more hands-on instruction and feedback.
And yes, the prices had to adjust accordingly but I’ve been warning you about that for a while now.
THREE NEW LEVELS OF COLOR WONK
COLOR WONK SAMPLE: Just the monthly lessons, no fluff. If you want to keep coloring for the same monthly price, choose Sample Wonk.
BASIC COLOR WONK: The same Wonk you know and love with a new focus on weekly discussion prompts and learning opportunities beyond the livestream.
COLOR WONK VIP: Folks have been asking for years if I’d offer personalized instruction and coaching. Here’s your chance to take Wonk lessons to the next level with more detailed feedback and supervision. Tons of perks at this level too. LIMITED SPACES WITH A WAITING LIST WHEN FILLED.

WHAT ABOUT MY OTHER WORKSHOPS?
What you purchase at Teachable will stay at Teachable.
Teachable will retain archived versions of the classes and courses you’ve purchased over the years. There’s no way I could move a decade of classes and 4000+ student accounts. OUCH!!!
Over the next few months, I will stop selling Teachable workshops and the sales pages for NEW customers will disappear but this won’t effect your forever access status.
And I will re-release a few Teachable things (Box of Colors, Real Crayons) at Mighty Networks. Also, the January session of The Blend will run at Mighty (no changes, same exact course).
Just remember: if you bought it at Teachable, you’ll access it at Teachable.
