Tarnished Green is Beautiful Too
Real shade is not darker color, real shade is desaturated color.
To create the desaturated colors that Copic Marker does not make, Vanilla Arts Company teaches Online Workshops and Livestream Coloring Challenges using the underpainting method. Students learn to layer colors realistically rather than blend.
Underpainting creates natural colors found in everyday life.
Vineyard Green
Elena’s Advice:
Ochre is not my one of favorite colors.
Combine that with green and it sounds like ewwww.
But when I see the sun streaming through this wine bottle, I understand the appeal of that Green Ochre watercolor paint I’ve never been brave enough to touch.
Red underpaint is a weird option but it makes for a gritty and strong base.
The golden highlights of this combination are achieved with a final coat of Y26. It’s a bit of sunshine through the tarnish.
Since Y26 goes over all the prior markers, it ties everything together making for color that’s anything but ewww!
