Irish Cottage - Artistic Coloring Kit

$25.00

Irish Cottage is based on my pen & ink illustration of the Muckross Cottage one of the smaller buildings on the grounds at Muckross House, Killarney National Park in Kerry, Ireland.

I love to teach landscapes using old buildings because worn, weathered, and slighly wonky buildings allow for the students to make a few mistakes. If your building leans a bit, your mistake instantly adds charm.

This is part of my free-form series where students add their own details with the chisel nib or very broad brush nib strokes. There’s no blending in the trees, gardens, and even the brick and shingles of the house— this give your entire project extra personality.

This cottage is perfect for any season. Make the leaves less dense for spring, add flaming fall colors, or draw bare trees and add snow to the ground for winter. The rosebushes are present in real life but I’ve allowed mine to climb higher and spread farther than the Muckross groundskeepers allow. You can change the rose color too. Experiment and have fun!

Ideal for alcohol markers, colored pencils, watercolor, or your favorite medium.

Irish Cottage is ideal for coloring with Copic or other alcohol marker, colored pencil, or watercolor.
